And if you look just kind of above that grey (not entirely above, just a little to the left of the top portion) you'll see what looks like a faded pink spot.

Some other things to note is it looks like in the bottom right, the grey overlaying the pink can be achieved with layer mode/effects or a low density brush with no blending. The laces on the girls shoes look like the opacity/density was just turned down a bit on the same brush flat brush. Also, look at the red blending into the pink just to the left of the mans knee, you could get similar effects with a low opacity eraser, though I don't think this is what was done here. You can have texture, bristle, etc in a blur brush or eraser as well (or set the color to transparent via the small transparent icon below the primary/secondary color), something to think about. The artist is using a blur brush as well (probably the most obvious location is in tree branch in the upper left corner, you can see a large blur line through the tree), just play with the blending and density. A quick rundown: take your texture (probably find something online), make it grayscale, crop/resize to 512x512, save in the brushtext or papertext folder. The artist appears to use some texture as well such as in the leash, probably a custom made one but you can get a fairly similar effect just using the built in Paper texture, at least close enough to give you an idea of how to make your own. You can modify it to be a bit more rounded as well, basically anything pure black will be converted into where the brush inks, so if you made put a thin oval instead, you should get something still elongated, but softer at the edges, which is probably how you can get the effect of some of the red/orange/pink flowers in the background.Īnd some spots appear to use the built in flat bristle (like the pink behind his arm). To get that flat brush style you can use a flat bristle, put it in elemap for sai 1, or bristle for sai 2.
